Dr. W. Jeanne McKibben MD

Dr. W. Jeanne McKibben MD of Oberlin passed away on March 2 2026 after a short illness.  She was born on December 21 1936 in Lincoln Nebraska.  Jeanne attended Cornell University where she met her first husband and then attended Michigan State University and became an Internal Medicine MD where she worked at Oberlin Clinic here in Oberlin for many years.  She then met and married Bill Wagner in 1991 and built a home here in Oberlin together.  Jeanne retired from her practice and was very involved in her community with the Oberlin Rotary Club, Oberlin Heritage Center and First Church of Oberlin.  She was a world traveler and loved photography, scuba diving, and gardening.  Jeanne is survived by her daughter Cathy (Don) McClure, son Dale Harrison, granddaughter Emily J. McClure and great grandson Emmit J. Clark, 2 stepchildren Brett Wagner and Amanda Wagner and 5 step grandchildren Kathryn, Zoe, Delilah, Toby and Maya.  Jean was preceded in death by her parents Wilmer Newell and Charlotte McKibben, husband Bill Wagner, daughter Lisa M. Harrison and her brother James N. McKibben.  There will be a visitation on Monday March 9 2026 from 3-6pm at the Cowling Funeral Home of Oberlin with a private family burial in Westwood Cemetery on Tuesday.  A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date to be held at First Church of Oberlin.  Online condolences may be made to www.cowlingfuneralhomeoh.com
